Cortex XDR
One picture of the attack, from endpoint to cloud.

Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR connects data from endpoints, network, cloud, identity and email, and uses AI to detect and prioritize attacks, investigate them and respond. ELPC deploys and tunes the platform and integrates it with your security stack.

About the product

What is Cortex XDR?

Cortex XDR is an extended detection and response (XDR) platform that unifies data from multiple sources - endpoints, network traffic, cloud, identity and email - into one picture of an attack: what happened, where it started and what needs to be stopped.

It combines endpoint prevention with behavioral analytics, correlation of events into an attack timeline, and response tools. It's a particularly good fit for organizations already running Palo Alto Networks firewalls that want to connect network and endpoint.

FAQ
What is Cortex XDR?

Cortex XDR is Palo Alto Networks' extended detection and response platform. It connects data from endpoints, network, cloud, identity and email, and uses AI to detect, prioritize and investigate attacks and respond to them.

What's the difference between EDR and XDR?

EDR focuses on endpoints. XDR adds more data sources - network, cloud, identity and email - and connects them, so you see the whole attack rather than just one machine.

Is Cortex XDR only for Palo Alto firewall customers?

No, but the integration shines when you run Palo Alto Networks firewalls, because network and endpoint data come together in one picture.

Is there a managed service?

Yes. Palo Alto Networks offers Unit 42 MDR and threat hunting, and ELPC supports deployment, tuning and integration with your security stack.

How much does Cortex XDR cost?

Pricing depends on the number of endpoints, data sources and data retention. After a scoping call you get a written quote.

How does Cortex XDR help with compliance?

It provides monitoring and logging of security events - evidence for logging and monitoring controls in ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Because it collects user-activity data, define retention and employee transparency in line with privacy law.
